Podravka to be the new owner of the cereals range
Droga Kolinska and Podravka have agreed that as from 1 January 2009 the owner of the range of cereals sold under the Čoko and Čokolešnik brands will be Podravka d.d. On this date Podravka will take over all the brands and the corresponding assets. The sale of the cereals range will not affect Droga Kolinska employees in Mirna, who will continue to be involved in the production of products under the Bebi brand.
Zdravko Šestak, the president of the Podravka management board, gave the following statement: "The purchase of Čoko and Čokolešnik gives Podravka an opportunity to expand its breakfast cereals range and fits in with the company's strategic focus on strengthening its market position. By acquiring these well-known brands, Podravka has enabled their survival and further development."
Milena Štular, a member of the Droga Kolinska management board, added: "At Droga Kolinska we are satisfied because we have found an owner who will guarantee the further development of the cereals range, in this way ensuring consumer satisfaction."
