Official opening of the Argeta plant in Hadžići

Sarajevo, 20 February 2007. - Yesterday in the late afternoon the official opening of the Argeta Plant in Hadžići, near Sarajevo, took place. The opening was attended by many important guests from Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Media world.

The Argeta Plant, and investment worth 26 million Euro, was symbolically jointly opened by Mr Janez Janša, President of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia, accompanied by a strong delegation of Businessmen from Slovenia, and Mr Robert Ferko, Chairman of the Management Board of Droga Kolinska. The present guests were greeted by Mr Haris Silajdžić, member of the Chairmanship of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Argeta in Hadžići

With its production of Argeta Pate the new Plant will supply the Bosnian Market as well as Markets of South East Europe, Turkey and the Middle East. The Annual Production Plan for all flavours of Argeta is 4.500 Tons. The quality of the products shall be guaranteed by complying with European Quality Standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, BRC and HALAL, i.e. the same standards that apply to the factory in Izola.

Argeta Plant also means new jobs for the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It represents an amalgamation of the Slovene investment and knowledge with the knowledge of young local experts, as the employees and the Director of Argeta are all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina. On the day of the opening 200 people were employed in Argeta.

On this occasion Mr Robert Ferko stated:„ We hope that this investment will encourage other foreign Investors and convince them that Bosnia and Herzegovina is a country worth investing in. In this way we also contribute our share to the strengthening of cooperation between the Slovene and Bosnian Economy. May I take this opportunity to thank the Authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina on all levels – from the community of Hadžići, to the District and Federal levels, which greatly helped us upon the implementation of such a large Business Project.”

After the opening ceremony the numerous guests from the Political, Business and Public life from Slovenia as well as Bosnia and Herzegovina attended the Reception at the Coloseum Club. The event included a concert of the Mostar Sevdah Reunion Group and the handing over of the 5000 Euro Donation for the Asylum for abandoned and unprovided Children of Bjelave in Sarajevo.
